i can’t tell you how many times i’ve spoken up about harassment only to be told to “learn to take a compliment”.
since when do “compliments” intrude on my space? what kind of “compliment” makes a person feel unsafe or threatened?
harassment isn’t a compliment. know the difference.
here’s an idea: poor people are allowed to have nice things
"do you love the character or the person who plays them?"
"Waste of good ammo. It’s my privilege to buy you a replacement box."
"All self-respecting whites have a moral responsibility to support our growing number of martyrs to the failed experiment called diversity."
"I thank all Police, you are the ‘Thin Blue Line’ protecting normal Americans from aggressive and entitled primitive savages. America is surely at the tipping point."
Just a few quotes (in case it’s hard to read) from that collection of donation messages for Darren Wilson.
Does anyone else want to say it’s not about race?
So true. I’ve never looked at a work of art and felt personally invigorated. I can see a caricature of me in the midground and background, scrubbing floors and grooming white people. White people get to see themselves in that foreground. Art has power.
I am trying to do everything I possibly can so change this. Because I too want to look at art and feel personally invigorated, and if its possible for others to see beauty and power in the past for themselves, I want that for them also. We can create our own narrative.
Ab, I’m becoming a mogul! à la Jay Z, à la Martha Stewart, à la Bethany Frankel; next thing you know I’m backstage at Barclays with Riri and Bey and we’re just laughing and sipping on champagne, then Riri leans for a kiss and she goes down on me!
